Return to skills

Mining is one of the 19 skills available in Guilds of Gods. You gain experience in this skill by using a pickaxe to gather ore from one of the many rocks around the map. Most ores are used in the Smithing skill, with the exception of clay which is used in crafting.

Pickaxes[]

A players mining level determines the pickaxe they can wield, at the standard formula. Each successive pickaxe does seem to have an effect on the success rate for mining. According to the developer the pickaxe used provides an invisible boost to mining level, which ultimately affects the success rate of mining.

Golems[]

When manually mining any ore (mining without using camps) there is a small chance for a Golem to spawn. This will be a different golem for each of the ores mined. These golems generally drop either noted ore or a small number of pickaxes, but there is a 1/50 chance for the golem to drop either a fragment or a chunk. These can then be combined with a thread to create a necklace that provides a boost to mining that particular ore. The fragment necklace provides a 2.5% chance of mining 2 ores at once, while the chunk necklaces provide a 10% decreased chance of a node dissapearing.

Golems health and defense scale based on the player that spawns them but they only ever have 1 strength so generally any player can safely kill a golem they have spawned with only their pickaxe equipped.

Training Strategy[]

Manually mining to 10 mining through copper and then using the best camp available is basically the only way to train mining efficiently. You can manually mine at higher levels, and spam click to mine faster however this is largely unsustainable over a long period of time. It is a good way to hunt for golems though!

At higher levels having bags of osmium tools will allow you to bank less often as well as saving inventory space, meaning that you can build more camps at once. You could even have your logs in bags, but most players choose to cut the logs for their camps as they need them.
